Evaluation: We will have three one-hour exams and a comprehensive final exam. There will also be quizzes in the discussion sections, which will constitute a discussion grade. The course grade will be determined by the following percentages:

Hour exams 15% each (total 45%)
Final Exam 35%
Discussion section grade (homework and quizzes) 20%

Course Policies:
1. If you cannot attend one of the exams or discussion section you should submit a written reason for your absence in advance of the exam or class date. In "emergency" situations call the instructor's office (777-2483) before the test or provide a proof such as your doctor's note or a police ticket. If the excuse is legitimate, an weighted average of your total scores and your class scores will be given as your substituting ``score". In general no make-up exams will be given for the first three exams. The decision to allow make-up exams will be made by the instructor on a case by case basis. Homework assigned must be handed in in your discussion section, no late homework is accepted. No drop of homework and quizzes.

2. Any appeal of grading must be submitted in writing within one week of your receipt of the evaluation.

3. An inexpensive calculator which has the basic math functions including square root is required for this course. This calculator will be needed during exams. Students are expected to be proficient in the use of the calculator of their choice. Students are responsible for having an operational calculator during exams. Exam proctors will not provide a loaner calculator for those who do not bring one to the exam. Nor will students be permitted to borrow a calculator from another student during exams. Photo ID will be checked in each exam.
