Title: Hyperbolic structures on the complements of selected fractals

Abstract: The basic idea of the talk is to construct quotient spaces of the circle which come from self-intersecting curves on a punctured Riemann surface. The non-self-intersecting case occurs when you look at limits of quasifuchsian groups, but the self-intersecting case is somewhat stranger. I show that you can embed the quotients in the self intersecting case in space so that the complement has a complete hyperbolic metric.
