Title: Remarks on Finiteness Properties of Groups

Abstract: I will define "topological finiteness properties" of groups as well as their homological analogues. For a short exact sequence of groups N → G → Q there are old theorems relating the finiteness properties of two of those groups to the finiteness properties of the third. I will explain how these used to be proved (methods I don't much like) and how I prefer to prove them.
