Abstract: I will discuss my proof of the existence of multiparameter isospectral deformations of metrics on the classical compact simple Lie groups of high enough dimension. These examples follow a method developed by Schueth for producing isospectral left-invariant metrics on Lie groups. I will explain my result which gives a condition for choosing metrics so that they are not isometric, thus ensuring the nontriviality of the deformations.
