Homework assignment, Due Friday May 11th
Here is the homework assignment to be handed in by Friday. I will accept it later than Friday, but if you hand it in on Friday I will have it graded by the Review Session on Sunday. Note that there are two assignments, one for each section. Make sure you do the right one:

Review Session for Final Exam: I will run two review session for the final

In addition Matt Short is running a review session The final exam is on Thursday May 17th from 7-9pm in GE 107. To prepare for the exam, the tests from previous semesters are listed here. I would recommend looking at the most recent exams first, so the final exam from last semester would be a good place to start in order to get an idea what this exam will be like.

Some Notes on Series: Extra Office Hours for Final Exam: I will hold the following extra office hours over the weekend and on Monday for the exam. I will be around my office at all the times listed, but I might have stepped out to get a cup of coffee. So if I'm not there, wait 2 minutes and I should be back. I will be out of town all day Monday and Tuesday morning.

Grading:

The grades in the class will consist of three midterms, a final exam, and in class work (weekly quizzes, etc.). Quizzes will be every Monday when there isn't an exam. The use of any calculators is prohibited for the quizzes or exams. The breakdown of the final grade for the course will be as follows (subject to minor tinkering):

The midterm exams will be evening exams scheduled from 9:00 - 10:30pm. If you have a conflict with the time for either midterm, let me know as soon as possible. If you don't let me know at least two days before the exam, you will not be given a makeup.

Help and Office Hours:

The math help room is a great place to get help when I am unavailable. It is open most of the day and is located in LN 2216. One thing to keep in mind is that the math help room is for general math classes, so the person who helps you might need a minute to remind themselves how to do a particular problem.
     I will hold office hours:

and by appointment in my office LN2235. Please contact me by e-mail at dwyer@math.binghamton.edu or see me after class if you want to make an appointment. I will answer your email within 24 hours. In addition to my regular office hours, I will hold extra office hours before the midterms and the final.
