As my term as chair comes to a close, I would like to thank the members of the Executive Committee who have maintained and enhanced the activities of the section and to the many members who have carried out the work of the section through their service on one or more of our committees. With our two year rotation policy, I estimate that about 50 members have served on a committee in these past two years.

Thanks to Luise Kappe and Grace Orzeck, I have presided over four exciting section meetings. And the highlight of my tenure in office has been to honor two of our members with the Distinguished Teaching Award.

Finally, I wish to thank the members for their comments, suggestions and support over these two years and to give my best wishes to Luise Kappe as she takes over the leadership of the section.
