The April meeting at Broome Community College will feature the inaugural appearance of a new event at Seaway meetings! The Technology Drop-in Room will regularly showcase new developments in hardware and software that can be used in teaching mathematics. This session we are featuring Geometer's Sketchpad. This software offers the user a small collection of primitives (lines, points, ...) that can be easily manipulated to make geometric explorations at various levels of complexity.

Drop in

• for a hands-on demo of Geometer's Sketchpad,
• to tell us what hardware or software you would like to explore at future meetings,
• to pick up information about a Seawsy Section newsgroup being set up for informal electronic discussion of pedagogical issues and mathematical questions.

The Drop-in Room will be staffed Saturday, April 19, 1997 10 AM to 12 noon Faculty Dining Room, Student Center 1:30 to 3:30 PM Titchener Hall, Room 104
