Abstract for "Teaching the 'Proofs' course":

This session will track the evolution of a first time prover, a creature found in the deep, dark woods of courses with titles like "Introduction to Proof." Are logic and set theory important to her? Can he learn to do induction? What does basic technique do for this student and what does it fail to do? What do you need to listen for? How does the course help in later courses?

Questions about the Friday afternoon workshop can be directed to Joel S. Foisy.
