Magic squares have long time been both a historic pastime and a mathematical curiosity. We will look at n by n magic squares and see that in order to construct them, we should really be living on the torus, and in fact, their construction can be see as quite knotty! This is a hands-on approach, accessible at all levels. Make sure to bring a pencil!!!
