TITLE: Derive in the Classroom
ABSTRACT: We will begin the workshop by discussing what DERIVE is and what some of its capabilities are. We will also briefly discuss why we have chosen to use DERIVE over some of the other computer algebra systems currently available and how it is used in our classrooms. We will spend the rest of the workshop looking at a couple of the labs that are currently used in our Calculus sequence and give the participants a chance to work through at least one of these on their own.
