This panel is a follow-up presentation to a panel we had earlier in the semester. The first panel focused on the Employment Center of the Joint Meetings in New Orleans, in which the panelists participated in January of this year.
Now at the end of the Spring Semester, each of the panelists has gone through the later stages of the interview process. This panel discussion will focus on the experiences the panelists had with the interview process in academia, as well as in the private sector.
At this seminar, each of the panelists will first make a 5 minute presentation about their experiences. Then, we will give time for discussion and questions from the audience. In particular, this will give you a chance to obtain valuable information about what goes on during the interviews, including what types of questions are asked and what kinds of background attracts employers. This is extremely important for anyone who will be looking for a job, which is probably everyone!
