Judy Pranger - SUNY Binghamton

TITLE: Developmental Mathematics

ABSTRACT: I will answer the following questions: Who is the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) student? What are the needs of the EOP student? What material do developmental math classes cover? How do developmental math classes prepare students for higher level math classes? What purposes do the developmental math classes serve at BU? What are the benefits for the teaching assistant who teaches developmental math classes?

Judy Pranger has been an Academic Counselor and the Math Coordinator for EOP at Binghamton University for the past nine years. Judy received a BS in Economics and an MS in Adult Education from Southern Connecticut State University. As Math Coordinator, Judy supervises all developmental math classes, trains the teaching assistants who teach these classes, develops curriculum, and assesses student's progress. Judy also supervises the Math 107 and Math 108 teaching assistants.
