Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure-track) in Combinatorics

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Binghamton University invites applications for a tenure track position at the assistant or associate professor level in combinatorics, starting in September 2015. Priority will be given to applicants with strong potential for research interaction with existing faculty.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Binghamton University invites applications for a tenure-track position in statistics, biostatistics, or related area at the rank of assistant professor beginning Fall 2015.

The successful candidate must have a strong record of research and teaching and should be able to interact scholarly with the members of the department's statistics group.

This position is affiliated with Binghamton University's Transdisciplinary Areas of Excellence (TAE) in the Health Sciences. Thus, prioritization of candidates will be based in part on the fit of their research program with the research vision outlined by the Health Sciences TAE (see http://www.binghamton.edu/tae/health-sciences/index.html for more information). As such, in addition to the members of the Department of Mathematical Sciences, the search committee will include members of the HSTAE.

The successful candidate must have a strong record of research and teaching and should be able to interact mathematically with members of the department's geometry/topology group.

This position is funded through the Smart Energy Transdisciplinary Area of Excellence initiative, http://www.binghamton.edu/tae/smart-energy/, a research cluster at Binghamton University. The successful applicant will also be able to exchange ideas about how mathematics relates to the interests of faculty in that program.
